Human Wisdom

The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God” (3:19 NLT)

The verse has two equally valid meanings:

Meaning #1

Religious values are different than society’s values.  For example, religion cares about the pursuit of happiness, but most people care about the pursuit of money.

Meaning #2

Sometimes, you are right, and God is wrong.  However, God **hates** to admit God’s errors.  In such situations,  God will try a plethora of ways to wiggle out of acting responsibly.  One example–as this verse indicates, God will blame your “lack of understanding”.

If you are self-confident, you should not compromise your position.  God, though, can be an obnoxiously hard-headed mule.  You may wait your entire lifetime without results.
